Philippine Airlines Adding Nonstop Flights from Manilla to Seattle This Summer

The flag carrier of the Philippines, Philippine Airlines, is slated to introduce new nonstop service from the airline’s hub in Manilla (MNL) to Seattle, Washington (SEA). According to Routesonline, the new nonstop service is not yet available to book. However, the online publication noted that the airline’s upcoming service has been loaded into the global distribution system (GDS). Philippine Airlines currently serves the United States, operating nonstop flights between Manilla and Los Angeles (LAX). In addition to new nonstop service from Manilla to Seattle, Philippine Airlines will also resume nonstop flights between Cebu (CEB) and Los Angeles (LAX) later this year.

Philippine Airlines’ new nonstop flights between Manilla and Seattle are schedule to begin on May 3rd, 2020. The first flight, PR128, departs Manilla at 10:45 PM and arrives in Seattle the same day at 7:45 PM. The first flight from Seattle will also begin on May 3rd, departing Seattle at 11:05 PM and arriving in Manilla on May 5th at 3:35 AM. The airline’s new nonstop flights between Manilla and Seattle will operate three times a week. Philippine Airlines will operate the airline’s fleet of Airbus A350-900s.

Philippine Airlines will be the first airline to offer nonstop service between the Philippines and Seattle. The new nonstop service continues Seattle-Tacoma International Airport’s pattern of strong growth in recent years.

With Philippine Airlines yet to make an official announcement regarding the airline’s new nonstop service between Manilla and Seattle, it is not clear when flights will be available for booking. Award flights can be booked through Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles frequent flyer program. Unfortunately, Philippine Airlines is not a major of any major airline alliance and its frequent flyer program features just two major airline partners. For travelers hoping to score a seat on the airline’s new nonstop flights, using miles or points will be quite difficult.
